and after 9/11, could we really afford to take the risk based on the intelligence (same that existed under Clinton).

I forgot, you feel we deserved what happened on 9/11 because we did not do more to understand why terrorist did not like us so we could see if they would play nice and stop all the terrorist activities they did under Clinton that we kept turning our back on as they became increasingly worse.
