I asked this specific question of Manitou factory engineers concerning my dads boat. The answer was "no problem" for storage or very light travel concerns. Many tri-toons are stored on lifts where only the outboard toons are supported with no issues. For travel, it was recommended to have support under all three toons, but the representative conceded that if the boat isn't bounced around it wouldn't be harmed. That said, it's very easy to convert a trailer and add bunks for a center pontoon.....parts can be bolted on in a matter of minutes.
