I too have a keen interest in the lake levels and especially the proposed later date of the drawdown. I recently read an article in "Lake" magazine (I believe it was the February issue) that said that we are supposed to hear something this spring. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. It angers me to no end that "Washington" has this much power over this local/state issue. They always think they know what's best for "the people" when in fact, they do not live here, vacation here and have no idea what is best for the Lake Martin community...they DO love to throw their weight around. FYI...in two days, the internet is going to fall under the regulatory strong arm of the FCC (Federal Communications Committee). While it is my belief that little will change with the internet right away, in a few years we will look back on this time and say, "remember when we could........?" I believe this will lead to many taxes associated with the internet, it will silence certain voices, and with little competition and lack of innovation incentive, our internet sppeds will get slower, NOT faster...just my opinion.
