After the discussion earlier this season I thought I would share my new variety. I call it "crunchy grass". The name is appropriate since it crunches like walking on potato chips. It has a beautiful gray color and entertains onlookers with little dust clouds every time someone walks across it.

I know the area and the watershed has had plenty of rain but my neighborhood has gotten any of it except one brief shower a week ago Friday. I have given up on all the grass except the sod I put down this year. I water it and the plant beds and garden. I can water in the morning and the yard will be grey again by the end of the day. I need rain!
