According to the rainfall reports from above the dam, we've had over half an inch of rain in the last 24 hours, yet the lake has dropped by .02 feet, as of right now. Why does the COE see fit to release water every time it rains, especially when downstream of the dam, from here to the Gulf of Mexico, is getting pounded with rain?
There is no science to their methods. Just another example of the basic policy of water control on the Chattahoochee River and Lake Lanier, SPITE. The release schedule has nothing to do with science, hydrology, water needs, power generation needs, etc. The COE knows we want a decent pool for the summer, which is precisely why they release in the manner they do. Typical government agency, answers basically to no one and uses their position to dump on the general public.
