Caught one at sunset yesterday with a plastic worm that was a fat 18 incher . I let it go back .I would like to hear from anyone that looks at his forum who has caught one that measured longer . I don't care so much about weight ; just length . It could be a running log from this time on where we just check in when any of us gets one 18 or longer . I suspect there are lot of people that fish the lake and look at the forum who don't post anything so ya'll could play along too .
It has been said that harvesting smaller fish and releasing bigger ones can help increase average size in the long run . With that in mind , I plan to only keep fish to eat in a slot of 12 to 16 inches . Bigger fish will be released to get even bigger . Anybody else can do as they please as far as I am concerned but I fish so much and catch so many that I have to release a lot of them anyway . I generally keep no more than I can eat fresh without freezing . They stay fresher in the lake than they do in deep freeze and I feel like I can get enough for a meal anytime I want anyway .
So how about it? We can call it the 18 incher club . I have one of those metal bass pro shop rulers on my boat .
Stripers are a different matter . Maybe the 3 foot club would be more appropriate .
