I went up to Smith this weekend with a buddy to fish for Stripe. Alot of activity very early in the morning. Caught two Stripers in the 10 to 12 lb range on topwater using an 8 inch silver Redfin. The fish were located near a shallow point (14') that dropped off into deep water (60-80') in the main channel. The spots and stripe were busting shad at the surface. The bite was over by 7:30 am. Water temp was 79-80 degrees. We also used live bait (goldfish). We only had one hit on the live bait all weekend. We also caught several spots on bucktails and rattle traps. Hope this helps. I would think the patterns would be similiar on Martin.
