I think that when institutions and coaches accept the type of undesirable behavior that many of these athletes exhibit, they are, in turn, accepting the same behavior as their players. Their main interest is in furthering their rise to the top of the ratings regardless of how they get there. It falls into the "syndrome" that it is ok because everyone else is doing it.
