Since Mueller was appointed Special Counsel in May, his investigation has uncovered very little evidence of Russia's trying to influence the presidential election. However, with General Flynn's pleading guilty today, it appears that Mueller(through Flynn), has found a way to try and turn the table on President Trump. Since Flynn's firing by Trump, he is likely unhappy with his dismissal, and Mueller is using this to weave his way into investigating President Trump. It appears that Mueller found a way to offer Flynn the "lesser of two evils". The fact that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein selected Mueller as the Special Counsel becomes suspect when you look at other involvements of Rosenstein within the DOJ. Rosenstein is a carry over from the Obama Administration and should have been replaced early on in the presidential transition.
