You are asking for logic where there is none.  I am still waiting for my magic screen doors that let flys out but not in while also keeping the cooler temp in during the summer ( but may have to reverse the screen in the winter to keep the heat in.

If that were the case then all people wearing masks on cell block d should be 100% safe as long as they wear their magic masks and no need to let out the criminals ( except so that they can probably try to vote in a few months )
