the driving force behind Lake Watch is as nonpolitical as it gets. The sources of information you seek would probably defer to Lake Watch as the definitive authority for water quality on LM. Go to their page and learn more (if you don't already know about it). The association w/ HOBOS was to advance the great work Lake Watch has been doing for years, nothing more.
