Hi all,
I've been kayak fishing for several years now for bass in several of the smaller and larger creeks and impoundment across the state as well as some occasional salt fishing. Now I'm getting the itch for stripers to take me on a sleigh ride!
The yak is rigged right and I do have a sounder on board, where I would like some advice is where to put in this time of year. Seeing as my arms are my motor I'm limited to about 7-14 miles total in one day, including all trolling, drifting, ect. I've paddled the lake before in the summer and don't mind being in the middle of big water with lots of traffic, so thats no issue.
I'm also torn on Artificial vs live bait. I have a basic bubbler system in a 5 gal bucket, as I've come to understand through my reading thats a step shy of a death box for shad. If I were to net for bream , how would they do fishing wise since they can tolerate a bubbler bucket better?
Thanks in advance
PS, hope yall enjoy this sunset shot I took last summer: Facing towards wind creek in the main river channel
