Cletus from Possom Gap in the North GA mountains walks into a bank in Atlanta and say he wants to talk to somebody about a loan. After a few minutes he is introduced to a loan officer. Cletus explains "Wael Ah'm aplannin to take my ladyfrien on a two week trip over to Paris and needs to borry about 25 hunnert dollars to hep us out." The loan officer smiles and asks if the man has any way to secure the loan. Cletus slides the title to a very nice Mercedes across the desk explaining "Ah kin leave this here car with ye." The banker tells Cletus that they can make the loan but that it will have a stiff interest rate of 10% and that the car will need to be held by the bank in its private secured parking deck. The deal is closed, Cletus hands over his car keys and walks out with $2500.
For the next two weeks the employees of the bank can't get enough laughing about how the bank had screwed the dumb hillbilly who used an $80,000 car as collateral for a $2500 loan at 10% interest.
After 15 days Cletus walks back into the bank and hands over $2510.28 in cash to repay the loan and interest. The loan officer accepts the money and cancels the note then comments "You know, we have had some discussions as to why a man would ever risk an $80,000 car to borrow $2500. Cletus replys "Shoot man, Ah didn't need to borry anythang from ye...Lordy, Ah got over 12 million dollar in my bank back home. I jes figured they wusn't no better way to fin a sho 'nuff safe place to park mah car fer 2 weeks fer jes ten dollar an twenny ate cent!"
