This advice is a little late for this year, but next winter, scout out your area and find some Christmas trees and brush piles that other crappie fishermen have sunk.  You can also spot some of these hidden honey holes by using Google maps or Bing Maps in sattelite view.  Bing shows much of the lake (but not all of it for some strange reason) at winter pool, so I have been able to spot some new spots on the Little Kowaliga end.
