On all three of my carbs there is an open set of female threads right next to the idle screw. This is detailed in the blow ups of the carbs as a jet vent. If all of these are missing then the motor is running a richer mixture.  So putting these back in should lean out the mixture and possibly solve my problem. I guess it's possible all these vibrated out.

If they are BEHIND the throttle blade, they are used to "sinc" the carbs with a machine called "Vacuummate".  IF that is what they are, then yes, they should be covered.  Some carbs have them some do not.  When you sinc them, they will not sneeze at idle.  If you get time today, call.

Tried to call but you were out.  I don't know why the jets are missing.  I had the motor worked on 2 years ago and maybe they forgot to put them back on when they where doing some diagnostics on it.  This has been an issue since the motor was worked on.  Never reaching full rpm and stalling a little at wide open throttle. In the blow-up this part is described as a JET-.094.  So it is a jet with a .094 orifice to restrict air flow to get the proper mixture, I'm assumming.   Some of the carbs show this part and some don't  Not sure why this is either.

I don't think that is my issue.  Back to my paln of getting a rebuild kit and see how that goes.
