Yesterday on Bill O'Reilly, Congressman Weiner was on the program. O'Reilly asked questions about the role of the IRS in the Healthcare Bill. Weiner continuously stated that the IRS would have no role in the management of penalties, etc. In fact, he stated several times that O'Reilly had his facts wrong.
Today, O'Reilly discussed the questions that he asked Weiner yesterday. Today, O'Reilly had the facts. The IRS will hire 16,000 agents to administer the follow up to insure citizens have health care.
I concluded:
1. The Democratic Congressman was deliberately trying to mislead O'Reilly and his audience or
2. Weiner had not read the bill that he had voted for and did not know the fats.
I believe 2 above. I also believe that there are many Senators and members of the House have no backbone and are blindly following Obama.

Lot,
-I agree with you that lots, if not all, democrats didn't read the bill. Even Obama got screwed over by those who told him kids with prior illness would be covered when they wouldn't.
-The only people who actually know what's in the bill are Dr. Emanuel and his leftest/socialist cronies who wrote the original HR 3200 that was suppose to pass back in August. Although a lot has changed since then, that bill's socialist essence, comparative effectivenss (which always leads to rationing) is still in this new bill.
-But I would go furhter than you. I would contend that most, if not all, of the repubs didn't read the bill either, and were just following their party lead.
-This congress is so politicized that it cares more about scoring political party points than it does about the country.
-We need a better health care system in this country. But these 535 clowns are too stupid to get it for us!

I don't think we can blame all 535 members for this mess. If you look at the work of GOP members like Paul Ryan, Tom Coburn, Tom Price and many others they have presented common sense legislation that will deal with a number of the problems we have with the system including tort reform, allowing consumers to buy health insurance across state lines, portability between jobs and addressing pre-existing conditions, etc.
These ideas have been rejected by the Dem leadership and news of them embargoed by the government media. There are also a number of conservative foundations that have proposed common sense reforms that do not involve a government takeover and trillions in new deficit. These include Heritage and the Heartland Institute among others.
My point is this is not an equal opportunity failure. Not one GOP member in the House or the Senate voted for Obamacare. This takeover is owned lock, stock and barrel by the Dems and they will own the results which are going to be bad for America and a disaster for our children and our economy.

Just heard on the news that AT&T is projecting $1B in additional cost for Healthcare. Earlier, Caterpillar announced a charge of $100M.
Heard earlier from a Democratic consultant that unemployment insurance should last until the person has a job.
What a mess we're in.
