I am new to the forum, I just wanted to know from you guys about common carp and drum, do you know where are the best places to bank fish and has anybody seen or know of someone that has caught big carp with rod and line.
Thanks...........................................

I have not fished for Carp on Weiss but I have seen them working the grass on the lake banks in the spring.
I think that this time of year, you would have your best luck fishing shallow coves with grass.
As for Drum, I've caught several in the 12# - 18# class fishing small crank baits for bass on the shore line.
Fact is that while fun to do battle with them and a heck of a rush, it is a nuisance when bass fishing.

Thank you for the information.

I am a C.A.G. member so I am looking for different areas to bank fish, I have fished at cedar bluff boat ramp several years ago.

You can catch carp nearly anywhere on the lake. I've catch them using a small chunk of hot dog on the bottom. You can go to Walmart and buy a bag of fish chum. It is a reddish powdery looking stuff. Poke holes in the bag and put in a flow through bait bucket. Toss the bait bucket in the water and in a hour or so the place will be crawling with carp.

Thanks for the information.........

I am trying to find bank fishing locations on Weiss. If I can find a place where there is not to much boat traffic and and a good place where carp shoal up that would be a start. I have fished before on Cedar Bluff causeway, half way along  where the boat ramp is, just a bit to much boat traffic (I understand the lake can get busy), but I have caught drum and carp there, I would appreciate some locations if you know of any.

Thanks........................................................

I am looking for bank side fishing at Weiss Lake....I know about cedar bluff and the carp park and boat ramp half way down the causeway, If possible could any body tell me if there are any other locations "around the Lake" that I could try with the least amount of boat traffic if possible. It has been awhile since I posted and did not really recieve any advice last time, I know a couple of the guys had sent some information last time.

Thanks......................CarpNut!!!!
