But having them the same will not stop the problem, just like DUI laws have not prevented that problem. We need education and enforcement.

They are already. In some cases even more strict i.e., a BUI with anyone under the age of 14 doubles all penalties. I understand that you will argue the case of BUI with a death associated. What you should advocate for, IF you really want to decrease deaths related to BUI, is open container laws. If no one on that boat had been allowed to drink the accident most likely would have been avoided. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY comes to mind. I refuse to ride in any vehicle or vessel that is to be operated by anyone that is, or may be, intoxicated.
It was a tragic accident and the guilty party is in jail, just not for long enough to satisfy you. What was your sisters BAC? If she wasn't drinking, why wasn't she driving?
You need to let go of the anger and allow yourself to grieve the loss of your sister.

A technicality. He has not been officially sentenced yet. I should have said headed to jail. I noticed you did NOT answer either of the questions posed above. Personal responsibility!! Was anybody on that boat sober?

How do you explain the differance between them? They both take a life because of consumption. Both are the drivers fault? Were is the differance? As far as to reply to other post, I can't comment on an open case.

For anyone that doesn't want to reveal the truth, especially if it hurts their argument. I would imagine it is in the public domain in the form of accident reports and such, I just don't have enough curiosity to go looking for it because I already know the answer to most of the questioned posed.
