While it is still apparent that they are operating on a bare bones budget the course is in better playing condition.  While the greens are still in round shale they are keeping them very short so the little clumps of bright green grass don't bounce and knock the ball around as much.  Still over priced at $50 on weekends.  We played Sunday morning and there was no one there when we go there and three cars in the lot when we left.  I really think it would get more play at around $35 a round and would generate more revenue for the course.

It really is a shame.  Not my favorite layout but it would be worth the money if it were being maintained properly.  The people that work there are very nice and I suspect they are doing the best they can with the little traffic they get.  We also play Lakewinds which for the money is OK but the tiny domed greens are not much fun.

If I moved there permanently I would probably join the country club in Alex City but I am not going to shell out $30K to join a club I only play occasionally.

Got it and thanks.  Next time I am down I will get the wife and play there.  Looks like a nice course and the cost is very reasonable.  Only downside for me is the distance.  I live in Sandy Creek area so its 30 minutes versus 10 to Stillwaters and 20 to Alex City.  But I can drive an extra ten minutes at that price.  Thanks again for the suggestion.
