Some really good economic news...for now

Big jump in new jobs the very month the GOP wins the Senate and the House. With a foil to Obola's economic follies coming into power I expect to see this trend continue as greater optimism allows businesses to hire more people. Also, while not exactly sterling results, there was also a modest increase in wages. The labor participation rate held steady which is an improvement in and of itself. Still not the greatest news in the midst of the worst recovery since the Depression but a step in the right direction. Amazing what can happen when dear leader enters his totally lame duck phase.
I say for now because as I have posted elsewhere, we are over 54 months into this paltry recovery which puts us back into potential recession territory. Its not a matter of whether...its a matter of when and how bad. If it does happen before the November 2016 whoever is the Dem candidate is going to have to fight those headwinds unless they can completely and totally spearate themselves from Obola's stupidity on economc issues. Nearly impossible for Billary and if the nominee ends up being another left wing nut they will want to double down on failure.......not a good argument to be made to the American people but could easily fool LIVs (low-information voters) like GF and Archibald.....what am I saying?!?!? They love the carnage of these policies!

Yeah that's the unfortunate part of this. But I guess I would rather have 321K lousy jobs with no more people leaving the workforce than the slide we have seen under dear leader. Half a cup is better than none at all.

One of the anecdotal observations I have considered a positive is the amount of new construction (commercial and residential) that is going on in the Auburn/Opelika area of Lee County. May not be new jobs but certainly it's a paycheck that's really appreciated at this time of the year.

Yeah...over 90,000,000 Americans are not working. My friend Jim is one of them. He has been unemployed for a shocking period...over 25 years! Jim tured 91 last July. Oh, his wife Ellen is also unemployed for 20 years. She will be 86 on Feb 28.
This 92,000,000 number is the biggest piece of crap hoax since the Piltdown Man. It is meaningless from an economic standpoint and anybody with a 5th grade education knows it. People like you and Drudge keep spouting it because so many of your fellow travelers and followers possess only a 2d grade brain.

Approx figures in millions -
US population 300
Employed 145
Working age not
employed 90
Other 65
Sum of Employed and Working age not employed 235
Percent of Employed to Sum above 62% (labor participation rate)
Observations -
Your friends fall into the "Other" category above (children, retired, etc) and are not considered unemployed, unless they are actually seeking employment.
If the 90M figure is a hoax, so is the labor participation rate. Is it a hoax too?

OK how about this math
Since the end of World War II the number of employed has risen from 42 million to 140 million today. An increase of 98 million
Since the end of World War II the occupant of the White House has been a Republican for 36 years while a Democrat was president for 34 years.
Since the end of World War II the number of people employed increased 35 million during those 36 Republican years (a bit less than a million a year) and 63 million during the 34 democratic years (about 1.85 million a year)
If you look at the percentage increase the democratic advantage is even more stark.
Now that we have assured complete Republican obstructionism and gridlock for the next 2 years look for the recovery to stall.
If you think that the majority of those 92 million consider themselves involuntarily unemployed you need to check the facts for a change.

I do not conceed anything because I do not know what age groups are including in the figure. The poster may be correct...I simply do not know.
I do know it is true that 92,000,000 Americans are "unemployed" if being unemployed means not having a job. Will you conceed that most of those 92,000,000 are not working because that is their choice and in fact they are not looking for nor wanting a job?
If you go back to the 50's when a far smaller percentage of the women in this country were working or desirous of working you will find the percantage of the popululation in the same "unemployed" figure would be a lot higher than the 29.5% those 92,000,000 represent today. Do you blame President Eisenhower for that FACT?
I do say again, this 92 million figure sounds shocking but is meaningless as an economic indicator unless you place the figure in context of what portion of the figure is happy about being "unemployed". Anyone who can't understand that FACT is indeed a moron!

so you don't believe Jim Dandy's numbers - but if they were correct, do you see how there is no "hoax?"
Are you the only one with the details?

I am unsure of his numbers...he may be correct in saying the number excludes retirees and children, I simply don't know. My final analysis stands...using the number 92 million to give the impression that is the number of "unemployed" in this country is not valid by any principal of economics, statistics or honesty and for Drudge or anybody else to imply otherwise is misleading at best and a "hoax" in reality!
I AM sure of my conclusion...hence by the Dandy boy's standards Dwight Eisenhower, Jack Kennedy / LBJ and probably Tricky Dick presided over much worse economies, at least unemployment wise, than W or Obama! You are welcome to research it on your own.

Nice to see Comrade driveby and provide us with his usual comic relief. Glad Archie is able to set the record straight. Looks like Archie has intimidated the Great Martini.

Last reply to Arch applies to you too. I love how you combine such earnest objectivity with 14 yo teenage boy smartass social artistry.
I prefer to characterize my activity as lurking, not driveby. Not sure what prompted my comments today, but had a feeling there would be a GF response. I know Arch is glad to have you in his foxhole.

If I responded to every Archibald stupid post I could not get any real work done. I just wait for him to go back to the Jokes section and comment on other people's jokes. Soon enough his false messiah will be out of office and we will have a GOP president and Congress and he will suddenly find even better economic news to be a crisis.
