Does anyone know why Alabama Power is not following their “Rule” for the lake level?

Not enough rain to keep the level. 10 day forecast not looking good either.

Part of the issue with Lake Martin is that both the Tallapoosa and Coosa rivers feed the Alabama River. Regardless of what is going on in our watershed, they have to keep flows up to keep the levels in the Alabama River up. So when we have limited rainfall along with the Coosa River basin, levels are going to drop. But this is still pretty good for this time of year. I recall many years where by mid August the levels were down several feet.

With the record breaking heat in July and August be thankful for what we got.
