Yesterday was sicken experience to see a cabin burn to the ground.
It was across the lake so we had no boat in the water and to far to drive to
offer any help in time. It was one of the old cabins built in the early 60's.

Down from real island. Up in a slough. Or by road off 80 near hiway 9 near Central.

were the owners home? do you know? jeez....now this is a weird feeling. What exactly is a cabin? If mine were to burn down...how would I find out?

I know the feeling. I would hope the authorities could trace the owner through the County Tax Office if nothing else.

Was it by any chance one that had been donated to the fire dept...alot of old cabins are burnt so a new structure can be built on the valuable property...and its a good tax write off if donated to the fire dept..for training

Yet another reason to have your 911 address at the road and on the waterfront! Your local fire department would notify you if they have your name/address/phone info on file.
