I was wondering if anyone had taken a dip yet this season and if so how cold the water is when you are actually in it. Is it swimable yet? I just got my boat to the lake yesterday and was wondering. Obviously with the gloomy water there were not many swimmers out on the lake.

I was in it to mid-thigh this morning helping a get a neighbors disabled boat out on my ramp. The water was SURPRISINGLY not to cold. Even with the cold wind I never got a chill. My son has been swimming for several weeks already.

I wanted to ski this past weekend and I knew the best way to get it over with was to just jump in. Suprisingly it didn't take my breath away. Turns out we could have probably already been skiing this year. I don't put much stock in weathermen, but they say it may reach ninety by the weeks end. Go ahead, get in.

That's good to hear, especially since I probably wont be able to make it this coming weekend (Mother's Day). By the following weekend it should be relatively comfortable. Thanks for the info.

We have been skiing for 6 weeks ( no wet suits for the last 3). The kids swam off the dock all afternoon Saturday and I took a short dip to cool off. It felt great. The main channel is a little colder, but the slews and protected areas (on the west end) are comfortable.

us old folks have to have a water temp around 80-85 in order to get on the jet skis...much less water ski or swim..
