Home Depot has a portable pump with a handle that is 1/2 HP. I can set this on my dock , plumb a line in the lake, and attach a hose. It is 110 volts. Cost about $120.

Does anyone use something similar? Wanted to know how it works and whether it will run say two sprinklers?

I had a good summer but my grass did not.

I think you'll need a continuous duty pump. Home depot sells a sprinkler pump that will do the job. I have a 1 1/2 hp motor that will put a lot of pressure to 7 rotating heads at a time. Pump cost about $210 .

How far do you want to lift the water? The pump is rated for lift. I'm not sure 1/2 HP will get you much.

I'm with OMS I think you need more HP. I have seen irrigation systems pumps with 2-21/2 hp. I'm almost sure Lowes or Home Depot has a 1-11/2hp model for you that would work.

I have a neighbor that did one and he made a manifold for the pump output out of standard PVC stuff for multiple hose fittings. Put on a timer and presto a cheap irrigation system.

You can also call an irrigation supply house that would give you some good advice as to the size pump you need.
