Anyone seen a small red white and blue aircraft flying over the west side of the lake this weekend? Wondered what it was. Looks like it could land on water, but haven't seen it do so, but it flew pretty low and slow down the lake.

We saw it 2 weekends ago. It was flyig over the Sandy Creek area and had floats on it. Someone in our area owns another "lake plane" and keeps it in a large boathouse w/ folded wings.

I helped launch a small plane (2 man cockpit) from Chuck's Marina last week. They had a fuel leak and Clearwater Marine, LLC, at Chuck's gave them a boat plug, stopped the leak, then we jumped their battery, got them fired up, they buzzed around the gas dock, handed back the battery jumper and off they went.....made flight somewhere after Stillwaters/Harbor Point. The two guys were awesome, and pretty darn brave IMOHO. Couple days later one of them returned and paid for the plug Clearwater provided them. Pretty cool machine they had, albeit experimental. I might think twice before flying something like that so hats off to someone who has the cajones.

This one has a white body and a red and blue wings. It was around Kowaliga and Real Island and definitely didn't have floats. It was like a PBY; only in miniature.

Jim - the smaller (relative term) of the two, and wearing glasses - is a founding member of the Decatur Chapter of Team Shortbus. He did say he was glad to have the fuel leak while not trying to generate lift though - que the blind pilot jokes here.....
