I just talked to the owners at Clear Creek. Donations for their annual fireworks display is 1/10th of what it should be. There will be a display this year (Saturday the 2nd, even though the website says the 3rd) but if donations don't improve, I'm afraid this will be the last year. Please let everyone you know of the situation and preserve this tradition by digging deep in your pockets. I'm sure alot of money has gone to storm relief instead, but this is a worthy cause also. The owner's won't ask for donations, but I will. Also, if you don't already know, they cook a mean butt. Just call ahead to reserve one and you can pick it by boat. Only place on the lake I know of you can do this. You won't be sorry!

Not sure about where to send checks but they do have a collection jar in the store. I was there Sunday and they told me that it costs roughly $6,000 a year for the fireworks. Based on prices I have paid for smaller quantities of fireworks, I don't doubt it. They definitely will do the show this year but next year is in doubt. They seem to be a good bunch of folks who try to do the right thing and run a good business so I hope they are successful.
