The board sure has been quiet the past few days. What up? We had a slightly damp weekend but not much to speak of. The bass hit pretty good. Would it be too much to ask for you weekend warriors to stop throwing trash on the side of the roads!? Every Monday it's a shame to see the way you litter on your way to and from the lake. Ok before you part-timers say anything, I'm not talking about you. If you have guests please tell them to be respectful as guests and leave the lake cleaner than they find it. If not, I hope it rains every weekend.

I agree....the forum is too quiet and the roads leading to the lake are too dirty. Here is a way to help:

Lake Martin Clean Up

Article Date: 5/21/2005 By: Dave Heinzen

A week long clean-up of Lake Martin begins on Monday October 9, 2005 and ends on Saturday October 15. The event is sponsored by the Alabama Power Company and the Middle Tallapoosa Basin Clean Water Partnership. This is the first organized, lakewide, clean-up in two or three years.

As has been done in the past, there will be many locations around the lake where the public can come to get their trash bags and free T-shirts for their participation. The collected trash will be brought to specific, covenient, locations. Alabama Power Company will transport the trash to one accumulation site for the event-ending publicity and will then properly dispose of all of the collected trash.

Any organization that wishes to participate in the clean-up at the area of their choice may contact the event chairman by e-mail at drheinzen@charter.net
