This is for all you snake experts out there. Can you tell what kind of snake it is by the way it swims? We saw two when it was warm & sunny a few weekends back....one that swam flat on top of the water and another that swam with its head on top but its body is below the surface.

Cottonmouths are bouyant swimmers, therefore, the one on top could have been a cottonmouth. The rule is that if you are swimming and get bitten on the ear, you were probably bitten by a cottonmouth. If you get bitten on the leg, it is probably an alligator.
