I plan on being at the lake last half of next week. Should I plan on bass fishing or should I focus on crappie?

Hope to use my new baitcaster outfit and some new flies I've been tying with the Enrico Puglisi material. That stuff is awesome! Maybe I'll make some small ones for crappie....hmmm...that could be interesting....

I'll post results...good or bad, but hopefully good!!

I've been doing good with the crappie around piers in 4 to 6 feet of water. My neighbor has been tearing up the bass as well. He catches 8 or 9 spots every time he goes out lately. He fishes the peninsula behind Pier 59 Marina. I guess you can choose which one you want to go after since they both seem to be biting right now. Be safe.

Thanks for the feedback InjunJohn. Been a long time since I fished for crappie. I'll be sure to give that a try...them's good eatin'!

This will be the first fishing trip on the lake this season and I am ready to catch some fish.

I'm on the point just North of Country Club Estates on the Talladega side. Some good coves close by that makes for some great kayak fishing. No power boat yet....maybe later this year.

Lousy weather and bad timing on my part = 0 fish. Did get some work done on the house, which makes the Queen happy...
