A guy that is celebrated and a gazillionaire only because he can sing and write songs insulting one of our Presidents. And this from a guy who didn't do well enough on his exams to get into college. If it weren't for that I am quite sure he would be a retired truck driver or more likely spent his life in and out of jobs and mostly on the dole....

The only reason he gets any attention is for his music. Beyond that he is just another poorly educated liberal idiot artist. Another reason to shout "shut up and sing". I just find it offensive and classless that he comes to our country and insults a former President and our equally classless commander in chief just sits there and celebrates the imbecile while the other liberal idiots in the crowd cheer his inane comment. Two classless acts together....

Yes, I'm offended by Sir Paul. ...I'm also offended by Calderone. ...I'm also offended by the congress who cheered him. ...I'm also offended by BO and his apology tour. etc., etc., etc.,

I'm even more offended by the large number of Americans who cheered for all this America bashiing. As an Irish kid I quickly learned it was OK to fight amongst ourselves within the family, but no one had better pick a fight with one of us from outside the family. That's the way it use to be with our country; ..but I fear that is no longer so. That's what I'm most offended by, --not the idiots against us, but the idiots amongst us.

..and MM, I also think I'm offended by all your cigar smoke! :)

Now if you get a reasonable distance down wind my cigar smoke smells just fine. Even my wife doesn't mind it at a little distance and outside. Now if I was smoking those cheap Dutch Masters like GF suggested then I would understand..... :-)

Very much offended. Rather than accepting the honor given to him, he uses the momment to make it political and share his view. As you pointed out ... he did not even get in to college and he is bashing someone that graduated from two prestigious schools. Bush may not have been the best speaker with his folksy style. But he spoke from his heart and did not need a teleprompter and gave regular press conferences.

It was a thoughtless and inappropriate comment. I'm always sort of astounded by the number of Brits (particularly entertainers) who feel it is okay to take pot shots at our politicians. It's not like anyone asked for Sir Paul's opinion. He was there to get an award. The only appropriate response from him should have been "thank you".

I'm offended by BONO who is constantly hitting up our government for his causes. Why doesn't he go pick on the UK government for money for his causes? He's great about telling others what they should do.
