You recently posted that the right is quiet with ALL the good news. What say you about the dismal jobs report and unemployment jumping to 9.8% Can you finally admit what a failure Obama and the dems policies have been. Or are we still trying to blame others rather than their own lack of results. I would also love to know what drives your loyalty to such failed policies? If it is not economic, what is it that you like about this administration. I am baffled how anyone can see any positive from what has been done over the last two years.

WW, I operate a small family owned business. Nothing glamorous at all, but brings food to the table. I normally employ 25 + or - full time equivalent (55000 payroll hours annually). I most often use available college kids for about half of my work force, and deal with their scheduling needs. It causes me to carry a few more than needed, but, the associated expense is negligible. We're retail, and I start folks higher than WMT, TGT, WIN, or most any other competitor, which, on a 40 hour week, provides gross earnings more than $125 OVER the high AL unemployment check. Meantime, my UC Insurance is up 50% over last year, not as a result of claims, but due to fund shortfall. Today is December 3, and we learn that US unemployment is at 9.8%, has been higher than 9% for 17 months, and are panicked because NINETY NINE weeks of unemployment benefits are set to expire. Since January 1, 2010, from other than AU/SUSCC students, I have received 7 (SEVEN) that would be SEVEN (7), applications for employment. 3 of the 7 arrived in the same car that day in February.

Wow ... and they keep extending benefits and the wizards in Washington do not think about the impact that has on small businesses like yours. Many are not able to handle the extra "tax" on their business and let more people go, or worse, close their doors. I feel for those that can't find work due to the failed policies of Obama and the democrats ... but I also do not feel that extending unemployment to over two years as they are suggesting now. It was a 27 week program and now we are at 2 years and they are proposing 2.5 to 3 years. People many not be able to find a job equal to what they once had, but they will not take a job equal to or slightly more than unemployment as long as they have that free money coming in. For those that support the extension ... my question is how long is long enough? Or do they want forever? The answer is to change the policies and create the incentives to create jobs rather than more entitlement and dragging along the bottom. Now with the QE2, the weak dollar may help some exports, but rises prices on all imports, which as a country we import a lot. That raises prices on everyone which is just like another tax. Look at gasoline ... it has jumped almost 30 cents in the last month and will continue to go higher with the weak dollar. That hurts lower income people and the middle class the most.
