sequestration --- Who came up with that word anyway? Seems it's primary function is to force action. But it cuts the rate of growth of some federal spending. Isn't that a good thing? Can smart DoD folks figure out good spots to cut spending? Overall federal spending must be cut, but we will run into the "don't cut my stuff" frame of mind.

How can we do it?

Not sure which lawyer came up with the term but I for one would like to see it happen. Turns out that the best fix to the DoD issue is to allow them to shift funds around. GOP Senate is working on such a bill. That way they can shift money around and address mission critical needs even with a $60B reduction in funding. I expect Harry Reid to refuse to let it reach the floor for a vote.

Their entire strategy is blatantly obvious. Block any progress, blame Republicans, govt media goes along, low information voters put Democrats back in the majority in the House and they hold the Senate, then they completely destroy the country for generations to come.....OK, I added that last part but their strategy is so obvious only a deluded ideologue or our low information voter will not see it.

But Eric Holder said there would be civil unrest if it was allowed to happen. This sky is falling thing is getting annoying. Oblamer insisted on it and even said he would veto any bill that tried to change it ... he thought the GOP would never allow cuts to defense spending and allow tax increases and the GOP called his bluff after getting the Bush tax rates permanent. It is so silly because it is cuts in "growth" not even real cuts. Goes to show you that democrats love all spending, even when it is growth in future spending they want to protect it.

Obama has "now is not the right time to cut any spending" ... but he has no problem raising taxes ... I guess he does not think higher taxes hurt the economy, but cuts in government spending will. Wow he is so out of touch. But can some one ask him, if now is not the right time to cut spending with a $16.5 trillion deficit and annual $1 trillion deficits ... when would be the right time to cut spending????
