Please give me your thoughts and suggestions Jennie and myself would like to just give back to the Lake and thought this could be a fun and very good thing for all of us who love Lake Martin
I cleaned up a big mess today on Woods Island. Can't for the life of me understand why some people would break beer bottles in a swimming area, or any area for that matter.
I think it is a great idea and I know we would participate. Keeping Lake Martin clean and pristine benefits all of us.
Where we live in Acworth we have Lake Allatoona ( Lake Martin more beautiful by far) and they do a huge event every year after the first draw down called The Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up. Vendors come in and its somewhat of a festival. Lake Martin is probably 15 times bigger but if enough people got involved there could be different jump off points with one central location for the big festival at the end of the cleanup. It would be too much to organize by August -- but your idea is a great start to something that could be much bigger with sponsors and entertainment. Maybe Lake Martin already has something like this -- we are new to the lake and have only been here around 4 months.
We would like to thank all if have supported are idea . The date we have come up with is Saturday August 24th I'm going to contact several media outlets and lake Martin .com to help us get the word out . This could turn into hopefully a anual event and become a big event . Baby Steps . Lol .
I would like to have pre registration.... and a very good point was maid starting spot , we will have coffee dounuts at Harbordocks that morning but you do not have to be there that morning to preticipate . For those that have a long ride .
I'm also going to reaching out to Advance Disposal to donate a container.
Any suggetions please call me personally

Thanks to All look forward to the event.
Shay Great idea! We can't do much but would love to donate something from the Garden Center or Bait Shop as a give away if you are interested. I understand "baby" steps because that is still where we are in building our business but want to be involved with the community with Seasons. If you are interested in us donating something you can call me Kim @ 334-740-7110. You may also have some luck getting with the local high or jr high schools about clubs or organizations doing some service work. This would be a great way for the kids to be able to give back to their community as well. I know that high school students are always looking for way to build up their National Honor Society service hours and this would be fun as well.
