This question is commensurate with “Aren’t
we a gay couple?” At one time the words “liberal” and “gay” had less invective
and more meaningful definitions.
Those who would, in times past, pursue a
“Liberal Arts” degree would be in the pursuit of being a qualified thinker.
Such a person would be sought by employers and government agencies desirous of
a man or women able to make decisions – be critical – in context of history and
philosophy. Such a person would be quite
eloquent, able to debate within reason, and compose clear position and decision
documents. This person would be absolutely devoted to fairness and
unconstrained, cosmopolitan, thinking.
in current times… the exact opposite is
true. These skills and traits are NOT taught at university (college). Schools
of “higher education” are turning out constrained, brainwashed idiots who,
despite what their transcripts say about English 101 and 102, cannot compose
lucid thoughts with correct grammar. They ignore history, philosophy, and
fairness in favor of some adopted personal agenda. No one in his right mind would subject his
business or mission to such “credentialed” cacophony.
Cosmopolitan observation has fallen by the
wayside. These young zealots (another co-opted word) are educationally and
occupationally prepared to fail at climbing to the top of Maslow’s Hierarchy…
altruism, stymied by greed and conceit… and yes, cultured ignorance.
As i see “liberalism” in today’s context,
i see arguments, decisions, and actions made in an intellectual environment
deficient of truth.

Conservative? i certainly am. But, if you
would argue with me… do so while incorporating the real history, growth, and
development of mankind. Please don’t blather.
