Other than sattelite, you have two choices, a Mifi from ATT or Verizon or Cyber Broadband WISP service. I have both, but cyber broadband uses a standard router setup and no data caps. The service is reliable and easy, but not cheap ($100 per month for 3GB download, 0.5 GB Upload speeds).

There is at least one local provider that I know of but don't recall the name right off hand. I have a 3 gig data plan deal with AT&T and can use my smart phone as a hot spot. When I'm on a job around the lake it works fine and often better than my dsl at home. I just upgraded to the smart phone for me and my son on a shared plan, unlimited data, talk, and text... haven't got a bill yet but should run about $100 for both phones. I know that downloading movies will eat up the bandwidth and I could get hit with another $10 for each additional gig of data.... I've been around the lake a long time and wouldn't have anything but AT&T cell service here. I bundle my home dsl and cell service for about a $10 savings and we no longer have a landline per se, just for dsl.... total communications will be running me about $155 plus the tax stuff for dsl and two smart phones (bring your own phone). I got a couple of very good Motorola Atrix2's off of ebay for less than $100 each and picked up some very good batteries off of Amazon.com... I tend to be a thrifty shopper.
