Anybody know where I can find a nice 2 bed, 2 bath lake house on a point lot on Lake Martin for about $35,000?

Yep, you are right. I've just recently graduated from college, and would really like to live on the lake. But with the way prices of lake property have been going lately, looks like it could be a long, long time before I'm able to get my own place on the lake. Kinda discouraging...

I found a 1 acre lot with 67' of waterfront for $62,500 on Amy Banks' page. That's a lot of money for 67' of waterfront. Comes out to be about $1000 per foot of water. I also found a nice lot in the Ridge with 600' of waterfront for only $500,000! That comes out to be $833 per foot of water, a substantial discount for buying waterfrontage in bulk!

Perhaps someone who has been away for a long time that doesn't know lake property is selling so high. I know this is difficult but it can be done, hunting land deeds and calling the next of kin to see about selling.

Yeah I do. Over in Stillwaters ..I think the units are called "Redbud" something. Affordable, put your boat in dry stack and poof! you're on the lake.

You are right but do not be discouraged. Most of us (at least for me) had to work a lot of years and make a lot of sacrifices to afford a piece of heaven and other nice things in life. Some others inherit the property or the money to buy such with.
You are generally not going to be able to buy a genuine Rolex for the price of a Timex.
You are fortunate to have a college degree. You had to pay for and work for that accomplishment. It will be of great assistance in obtaining other benefits in life. I have read on this Forum where several poster have been crying oh poor me because they can not afford a place on the Lake. My advice - stop crying, raise your chin up, work hard and set that as a goal in life. You may also find during that travel in life other things as fulfilling or even more so.
Take these as words of encouragement, and I hope the best for you.
