Got a good look at this place yesterday, saw some people out enjoying the day. Mostly kids in the water. Nice clean looking place.
Is this only for Alabama Power employees and family?
ALSO..
ALAMISCO? is this the Alabama Power park?
and..
What is that huge blue air bag thing. Can't imagine what it's for other than landing on after jumping out of a building.
|
DARE Park is free and open to the public. If you wanted to get one of the pavillions it would be best to contact them and make a reservation.
Sorry you misssed the big bird. we were treated to quite a show yesterday. We were sitting outside and watched the female and juvenille for about 10-15 minutes, right from our pier!! It is amazing how long they can soar without flapping those huge wings.
Glad you found the nest though. You gonna treat us to the pics? Did you cross the lake and shoot New Hope Church?

here are pics. Didn't do to well, had guest in the boat with me, so I couldn't take any time shooting.
In one pic, possibly was the bird. It's at a distance, and I couldn't tell for sure what type it was.
Also, in the pics is that big blue thing....hmmmm it's just odd.
I went by Anchor Bay and took pictures of the plant I mentioned earlier. couldn't get too close as they were launching a boat at the time I arrived.
Maybe next time I'm down after my KAUAI trip next week - yeehaa!!! I'll cruise over early in the morning and try to catch them.

Camp Alamisco is a 7th Day Adventest camp. They have a lot of summer camps for kids and families with a lot of activities/instructions: wake boarding, slalom skiing, horseback riding, PWC riding, swimming, nature stuff, etc. Our church had our men's adventure trip there this May - rented the place for 4 days - it was awesome! The blue air bag is the blob! You jump off the platform onto the blob, scoot over to the side and the next person jumps off and sends you flying through the air into the water. The people there were great.

Camp Alamisco is open to all children and families, not just disadvantaged. They hold week long camps during June for kids from around age 6 to 17. My son went last summer and loved it - especially the blob.
