Have heard a rumor that the Power Company was not going to drop the lake like they ususally do.. I know the reason it is up now is because of all of the rain that we have been having sure is nice to see a Full Lake in August was just wondering if anyone else had heard about this.

You might want to check the post by AnchorBayDon on July 25 under "Lake Levels". It does not sound like this is the case this year but could be a trial run of some sort.

uh oh. I have been raiding this forum long enough to know this rumor pops up every year about this time. Lamont? Jim? Lakeman? RoswellRic? Any truth to this one?

But not because of the reason you think.. It just seems that way because the water flow is much higher than last year. The lake level is higher in the north end because the outlet at the dam on the south end can't keep up with the flow from the Tallapoosa on the north end. It's backing up. We will just have to wait until it stops raining.......

The word I have is APCO is going to try to keep the water up a little longer in the summer and bring it up sooner in the spring, depending on the weather. No plans now for any huge drawdown. I'm ready for it to come down. Yabba Dabba Doooooooooooo!
