I am planning on purchasing a bird house and did not realize there were so many from which to choose. Can anyone that is familiar with birds of this area recommend a bird to target. I see speciality bird houses for Wren, Blue BIrds, Woodpeckers, Robin, Owl, etc..

While it's not a house, I recommend you also get a hummingbird feeder if you don't have one. Keep it near a window or deck. We get a lot of traffic from them for 5 or 6 months a year. They are pretty cool to watch.

I agree with FLee about the hummmers. They are fun to watch and are unbelievably aggressive little guys. We have a martin house, too. Martins eat skeeters, and I'm all for that.

Every since I was a kid, I have loved the sight of gords used as bird houses. Sort of a condominium of bird houses so to speak. Just seems Country and Southern to me.
