I recently read that Russell Mills was eliminating about 400 jobs in Alex City the next few months. How many Russell Mills jobs have left Alex City the last few years? How many people still work at Russell mills in the Alex City area?

On the news the other night, they said there were 2000 people still employed by RM in the AC area. I would not have thought that many.

Russell Mills was not exactly bought by Berkshire Hathaway (Buffet). It was "folded in " under Fruit of the Loom. I would think that "Fruit" will consolidate operations to make it run more efficiently. Who knows how that will affect Russell which is now just a subsidiary of "Fruit. "

See below for a link to the article from the Outlook. They quote 425 jobs cut and about 2,000 currently employed.

Hopefully RML will be left alone as much as possible. Historically Buffet has bought good companies, made a few changes, but pretty much left them to manage themselves. Let's hope it all goes well.
