Not trying to be smart but I believe Power Company ownes the lake.
I been on the lake since 1964 we have had these summers before as people have mentioned before on other post.
The Lake was built for flood control and power.
They have the right to pull the water.
We have learned to make the best of it whether it be riding four wheelers on the sand bar building bond fires out on the sand bar etc.

There are tons of people out there that would love to be in our shoes.
(Being property owner).

Good opportunity to jump on those rebuilding pier projects.

Just more places to beach the pontoon & enjoy the beauty

It could be worse - it could be as gross as Logan Martin -

owns the lake, why do they have to ask both the Corp of Engineers and FERC before they can go to the bathroom. Truth said, they operate the lake at the pleasure of the Federal agencies that oversee their operations. You own your car, but you can't operate it at 100 MPH on the city streets. Why??

APCO owns the bottom of the lake, right up to the 490 foot contour. The water is owned by the citizens of the state of Alabama.

pier, don't forget you must get permission from APCO and pay them about $300 for a permit. Then you gotta give them a copy of your plans and they will tell you whether you can do it.

So if you build a pond on YOUR land, I can come fish, swim, boat, pump out for irrigation or whatever I want to because the water belongs to the citizens of Alabama. You only own the land under it. The water belongs to us all. Thanks for clearing THAT up for me.
