Well, believe what you want about weather forecasting but the facts are we need rain, got no rain, rain been scarce since 05/06 and things are starting to get scary. Yes the lake is falling again, below 480 and the National Drought monitor predicts below average rainfall for the next 12 months. Lake going down, home prices going down, subprime fears not helping real estate values either. But worst of all, it hurts those making a living via Lake Martin.
The good news, we love the lake at low levels due to the reduction in traffic. We hate the low levels that hurt lake business. Take your pick and at best, do things that make it rain like plan outdoor activities, plan and do anything that get messed up when it rains. Wash the car, re-roof the house, etc.
Going to the beach for labor day. Water up and down a few feet a couple times a day. Maybe we will bring back a hurricane or tropical storm next week.

If this is global warming and the icecaps are melting, we should be under water from the increased volume in the rivers. This leads me to conclude that we are in a normal draught and things will get better soon.

Isn't that the same agency that forecasted the worst hurricane season in history for the last 2 summers?
