I think it's really interesting that when you attack SLISA with questions regarding their TRUE agenda, their supporters seem to fade into obscurity. I was personally attacked "VERBALLY" by one of their supporters "waterph", but when presented with certain questions, he doesn't respond. Seems like their cause is lost anyways, given the fact that their extension for their complaint was denied. Now if they really cared about the water quality at Smith Lake, all that money they've been spending trying to fight APCO could have been used to help fund lake clean-ups as well as the Smith Lake Conservation Society.

SLISASUCKS

Please tell me and others what you are trying to say with your verbages against SLISA and me in particular in your latest reply. First, why would a Smith Lake property owner (which you say you are) and a reasonable person adopt an demeaning alias such as "SLISASUCKS" for this forum? Second, why do you oppose the concept of a minimu level since you are, as you say but I doubt, a seasonal property owner? Thirdly, where are the lots on Smith Lake that are, as you say "year around and not seasonal"? Fourthly, please tell me where I have been untruthful in my communications on this forum.

When water levels fluctuate 20 feet on Smith Lake, I suggest to you that there is not such thing as a lot that is not seasonal. If so, please tell me about them. The dock may be floating but access may be such that the skills of a mountain goat are necessary to get to the boat dock. When a child or adult is fatally injured during the period that the water level is down 20 feet, what will we all say?

What questions do you want me to answer that you have asked? If you think that I would not support any citizen group for clean up efforts on Smith Lake, the answer is "I will". I want a clean Smith Lake.

Do I support environmental efforts? Yes.

Do I want low emission levels from any coal fired plant? Yes.

Do I want reasonable minimum water levels on Smith Lake? Yes. What would I want as a minimum water level? 500 feet.

Do I want Alabama Power to supply electricity? Yes.

Do I want Alabama Power to be more responsive to property owners on Smith Lake? Yes.

Am I concerned with other citizens downstream of Smith Lake? Yes.

Do I want truth to be communicated on this forum? Yes.

Do I want my boat dock or my neighbor's boat dock to be sitting on the ground? No.

Do I think that there are solutions to acceptable water levels that would be a "win win" for Smith Lake property owners and Alabama Power? Yes.

waterph. The lake doesn't belong to you. I would guess that at any time APCO could just tell everyone to pull their docks out of 'their lake'. They guess who is screwed?

I wonder sometimes why people insist on poking and prodding a sleeping giant?

I'm perfectly happy with the way things are run now and have been - even during the last two years of drought.

Why don't you just leave APCO alone before they decide they've had enough harrassment and throw us ALL out of their lake?

YOU WROTE:
".....since you are, as you say but I doubt, a seasonal property owner? Thirdly, where are the lots on Smith Lake that are, as you say "year around and not seasonal"?
OK, you say I don't own a seasonal lot, but then in the same sentence you ask "Where the year round lots are located"?
According to your statement, ALL LOTS on Smith Lake ARE seasonal, so that would make mine seasonal for sure!
Seems like you sure take a HARD stance at defending SLISA even though you don't own any seasonal property that you're trying to sell..

Bill, you make a very valid point: I would rather stay on APCO's good side and continue to float my dock on their water. Quite frankly, I've seen what my dock looks like sitting in the mud during the Winter, and I would rather NOT having it sitting there at all, but that's still better than having them revoke my permit and tell me to remove my dock altogether....
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
