I am actually encouraged over what we could have gotten from Hope and Change. It looks more like we are going to get Bill Clinton's 3rd term....hopefully without the cigars in the Oval Orefice. Obama's administration is shaping up to be Clinton redux, even with Hillary as SecState. Rubin, Tyson, etc. What is good about this is Clinton (other than when he raised taxes too much...his words, not mine) was more laisse faire on the markets than we would get with an Obama administration filled with like-minded ideological liberals.
They will of course continue to be totally wrong on social issues but that is for another post.

I guess if BO fixes the economy, improves world relations, creates that 2.5 million jobs, doesn't raise taxes (and allows the death tax exemption to stand) we'll all be happy. I'll check back in 3.5 years, lol.

AUCATZ, as I mentioned before, I believe you will see the Estate Tax revert to $3.5 million and will not disappear except for the one year. Don't release this beyond the Forum as I don't want to be labled as "an anonymous but reliable source". Thanks.
I hope that if Hillary does become Secretary of State we don't hear about conflicts with Bill and his business ventures.
I have always been impressed with Bill Richardson and look for him to be excellent member of the Cabinet as Secretary of Commerce.

Personal opinion: Hillary is positioning herself to run for Prez...we'll see if it works. The world seems to love Bill, so she has a high goal to meet to be as popular.
I've always kind of liked Richardson. And, I won't give away your secret.

Most of the key financial position could fit it nicely with a conservative republican administration.
Maybe O has seen the light. This must be giving the left all sorts of heart ache that he picked supply siders that are anti tax. We will not see a tax hike .... even on us over $250m until at least 2010. This could actually be very good. I am encouraged financially ... but agree with you socially.
But O is already breaking promises which conservatives as seeing good and right for the economy .... but what will he say to those that elected him. Goes to show he said what he needed to to get elected, but at least now he is showing he will do the "right" thing. At least it appears he will.

This is the very reason that I don't take campaign talk from anyone very seriously. Because as soon as they get elected, they realize that the very things that they promised usually have to be significantly modified when confronted with reality. It's not just Obama, it would be the same no matter who was elected. I figure that as far as Hillary as SecState, that was the deal cute to get the Clintons to support Obama. I don't believe for a minute that she considered turning it down. I don't think she has given up her Presidential hopes becasue she believes that she is destined to play on the big stage. I think she will do all right as SecState. Although I don't necessarily agree with her politics, she is a smart woman. Bill likely wants another shot at a Middle East peace agreement.
