For all my fellow AU supporters...didn't Turner Gill interview for the Tennessee job, the Syracuse job and the Auburn job?? Also, didn't Nebraska have the opportunity to hire Turner rather than their current coach?? We wern't the only one who didn't hire him.
Coach Tuberville destroyed the program this year when he decided to build the offense and ultimately the team around one player...Kodi Burns. Both Kodi and Coach Tuberville failed miserably.
I look forward to seeing what Coach Chizik will do.

I think you can look forward to Coach Chizik continuing his losing trend. He was a horrible pick ... yes mistakes were made this year ... but his overall record was great as a winning coach. Look at the number of pro players he turned out over the last two years that are shinning in the NFL. It was a foolish move by Auburn to ask him to walk. They will regret that decision for many years and it has lost them respect in the SEC and a few million dollars.

I loved coach Tuberville and wish he was still our head coach. He had a very bad year and made a mistake with Franklin. I think he finally got fed up with all of the interference from the you-know-whos.
I have a friend who was very close with the Chizik family when they were at Auburn, and my friend says that he is one of the best men they have ever known.
I think everything now depends on who we can get as offensive coordinator. If we get a good OC, I think Coach Chizik will be successful. If we don't get a good OC I think we are in for a rough ride.

Just as you would expect, the only reason Auburn didn't hire Turner Gill is because we're racist...just as because I didn't vote for Obama I'm racist. What a bunch of guillt ridden commentators and National Enquirer styled sports reporting.

Look back and you will find some of the same type comments when Tommy T. was originally hired at AU. When he was at Ole Miss, his record was not exactly spectacular. Ole Miss finished LAST in the Western Conference that year. And, yet, AU hired him, and the rest is history.
Give Chizik a chance. Who knows, maybe he will be a success. If not, shop again. Sure has worked for Bama finally, huh?

Has anyone been more successful overall as a coach and representative of Auburn University? And before you answer Pat Dye, whom I love, remember the probation thingy. Man, some of you Auburn fans amaze me. As I said before, be careful what you wish for. Kick Tuberville to the curb for Chizik. Enough said. Here's to wishing for the best but, expecting the worst. Have you looked at our former comittment list compared to todays?

I love it when this type of fan has to go totally off subject to get an ego boost. His whole existence is probably predicated on the success of Alabama football. And, for the record, I'm not referring to you BamaBob and the rest of the "good" Bama fans. We all have these types. Have a happy holiday season Mr. Jenkins. I know it will be difficult with no Bama football to sustain you until New Years. I hope and pray you have DVR to rehash your 11 glorious victories this year.

Reread my post. My intent was to solicit comments concerning Turner Gill…it was not to kick Coach Tuberville to the curb for Coach Chizik. I did not advocate that Tuberville resign or that he be fired. For whatever reason, he is no longer our coach and Chizik is. I acknowledge Tuberville’s body of work and hope that you will acknowledge Chizik’s.
I will still contend that a team that starts the season as the favorite to win the western division and ends the season as the worst team in the SEC to have been destroyed. My post also stated my opinion for why that happened.
Do you have any comments on the bad press we are getting for not hiring Turner Gill?

Just couldn't resist replying to your "Destroyed the program" remark. Good luck to Chizik because it is very likely he will have a lot of those 5 and 7 "destroy the program" kind of years....... or worse.
