Had a chance to catch his press conference. Class act. If I were a citizen of his oommunity I ould sleep better knowing he and his like were protecting me.

Most interesting quote from the press conference: When asked what Obama contributed to the evening, his response was "he supplied the beer".

I watched it and agree...Crowley is most likely the most intelligent one of the four at the table drinking beer. I'm curious if Professor Gates will have a presser.

It's probably just me, but why didn't they meet in the oval office? It certainly would have added more presidential stature to the meeting. The four of them sitting outside on the "patio" drinking beer from mugs looked downright silly. A keg and some plastic cups would have looked more appropriate.

The reason is Obama lacks common sense for even the most simpliest of tasks. He stuck his foot in his mouth commenting on a local issue to begin with and then he tries to have a presidential momment over it ... also should not have happened. The guy has to be the worst president ever. He can not even pronounce Ben Bernanke last name correctly and he could not even think of his first name in an interview I saw this morning. Bernanke is the most powerful person related to our financial system since has total independence related to interest rates. Yet, BO can not think of his first name and mispronounces his last name.

I assume that the reason they had it outside was to make it more casual -- a meeting in the oval office implies more formality than he wanted to give to the situation. Although I wonder how relaxing it is when the entire Washington Press Corp is snapping pictures from yards away...

As I read this morning, Crowley and Gate had already had a telephone conversation before showing up at the WH. And they plan to meet again. When they both cooled off they both probably were sorry the whole thing took place and played out the way it did. what I question is those who chose this unfortunate incident to create an "opportunity" to discuss race relations -- I thik Crowley and Gates have been exploited. Wouldn't surprise me to know that Jackson and Sharpton were lurking it the background.

Crowley seems to be a really good guy, but I wonder about his colleague who wrote a bunch of emails referring to Gates as a "jungle monkey" and now is protesting that he is not a racist.

Apparently it was Gates that mentioned to Obama in their phone call that "one day he might be invited to have a beer at the WH".
