Two examples why less regulation is better. Both GE and Bank of America were recently fined.

GE agreed to pay $50 million to settle regulatory claims it manipulated earnings to meet analysts’ estimates. Naturally, they did not admit nor deny the accusations.

The Securities and Exchange Commission filed charges Monday against Bank of America for misleading investors about billions of dollars in bonuses paid to top executives at Merrill Lynch following its purchase of the brokerage giant. The SEC simultaneously announced that it would settle with the Charlotte, N.C. based lender, who will pay a penalty of $33 million as a result. Naturally, Bank of America neither admitted or denied the charge.

Why should the government be involved how business operates? If a business wants to cheat why is it the govenment’s business? If a Company wants to play with earnings to increase their stock price that will help executives with options why is it the government’s business? The stock price increases and more taxes are paid on the profit. Anyone who lost money on the false information is probably a Republican who wants less regulation, so, no big deal. It is finally starting to sink in. Less regulation is better. Slowly, I am coming around.

you can't be serious in your posts, no one can be this uninformed and lack this much understanding of business. Your posts just make me laugh and feel sorry for you if you are serious.

Please tell me you are not and that you really understand more than what you post.

GF, you have got to be kidding with this statement. Huge losses in retirement due to dishonest people in very responsible positions in banking, wall street, unions, etc. is not funny.

I'm ready to cast my vote to clean house of anyone who had a part in the 2008 financial fiasco starting with left overs from the George Bush era and particularly with Democrats like Dodd, Franks, and now Obama and his Chicago cronies. I thought Obama had grown up from being a community organizer to that of President of the US. Apparently this has not happened and Chicago has moved to DC. He has just changed places of residence.
