Took 12 of my closest family members on a pontoon boat ride today and just off the main point at the Willow Point golf course were 3 pelicans. When we tried to approach them the flew so the pictures did not come out well. Been on the lake since 1986 and I have neveer seen pelicans here before.

I think we saw one last summer near Wood's Island. My son went to get a closer look and it flew away, he said he thought it was a pelican too. I'd trade Canadian geese for pelicans any day.

Brown or white? Lake's dropping so fast, they're probably waiting on low tide. You think a goose can make a mess, a pelican dumps half rotted fish--now that's a stink.

I've only seen a few white pelicans. Not sure what the native area for the white pelican is, but they are big, beautiful birds. They all remind me of a B-17, just lumbering along.

The one we saw was white.
