This is just the first in a series of posts about the serial lies Obama told at his speech to Congress. This is why we cannot trust anything he says about Obamacare!
Lie #1: "One man from Illinois lost his coverage in the middle of chemotherapy because his insurer found that he hadn't reported gallstones that he didn't even know about. They delayed his treatment, and he died because of it."
The truth. First, where did these stories come from? It turns out it was one story in over 100,000 pages of information provided to a congressional subcommittee. It also turns out that the seminal line that the man died "because" of the delay in treatment is false and Obama has been told that repeatedly as he stumps for his health care takeover.
The man's name is Otto Raddatz. Here's a timeline drawn from Peggy Raddatz's (his sister) June 16 testimony before a House Energy and Commerce panel:
September 2004: Otto Raddatz, 59, was diagnosed with cancer and started chemotherapy.
January 2005: Raddatz prepared for a stem cell transplant.
April 15, 2005: Before the surgery was conducted Fortis canceled Raddatz's insurance. Fortis claimed Raddatz failed to disclose that a 2000 CT scan showed gallstones and an aneurysm. Peggy Raddatz said her brother was never told of those CT findings.
April 25, 2005: Raddatz filed a complaint with Madigan's (insurance commissioner) office. Madigan's office filed an appeal. It was rejected the same day. Madigan's office built a better case and filed a second appeal. Fortis reinstated Raddatz's policy. Raddatz did receive the stem cell transplant. The AG closed the case on May 6, 2005.
Jan. 6, 2009: Raddatz died. Peggy Raddatz testified in June that the transplant "was extremely successful. It extended his life approximately 3½ years."
By my reckoning his surgery was delayed 2-3 weeks while this was sorted out with the insurer. This after he waited FOUR MONTHS after having this surgery prescribed. He did not die because he was denied insurance. He got the stem cell transplant he needed. The surgery was successful, extended his life for over 3 years and was paid for by the insurer. Out of 100,000 pages and all the testimony this is the best Obama can come up with?!?!?!?

Quit being such a racist MM!. You run the risk of coloring all of us who criticize this president with these rants of truth. BTW, if criticism of a President who happens to be black is considered racist, then why is intimidation of a white performer by a black rapper not also likewise racist? I'll wait for the MSM to hop all over this one....................not.

yes that is the BEST he could come up with. He is desparate to try and convince the american people that insurance companies are evil and they need him and big government to take care of them and protect them from these profit hungry insurance companies.
Profit is a dirty word to Obama.
But where is the media pointing out what a liar he is. While maybe Wilson should not have shouted it out ... at least he was telling the truth and was trying to let the american people know he was standing there lying to their face.
