That is the new unemployment rate ... and "net" job losses in September was 263,000 which was 100,000 higher than expected.
Can you please admit that the policies are not working?
Are you going to wait until unemployment is 14 or 15% and then we finally are getting job growth and say ... see the policies are working now.
This is so sad for america to have a president and administration that has no clue or just does not care about people losing jobs. Which do you think it is? He is pushing an agenda that is clearly not working. But as I have said before ... that may be his plan to justify his socialist agenda.
I assume you are a smart person, you know this agenda is not helping america or the millions unemployed. There are proven methods to stimulate the economy and get people back to work, yet Obama and the administration refuse to do what is needed to put people back to work.
And the dems say they are the party that cares about workers more than those greedy republicans. But giving people opportunities for success through jobs is caring much more than handouts.

declined again. That is not a good sign that companies will be adding jobs any time soon. If those that are employed are not even working a 40 hour week, why add more.
Just go to shopping malls and there are very few people shopping.
Dow futures are down 130 as I write this. Yes markets do not move in a straight line up or down. But it did not take a genius to see back in March that the market was way over sold even with the economic conditions. Hopefully we all enjoyed the limited recovery we go and made some money off some very obvious opportunities. But now the market needs clear signs or results to move higher. At least now that is not happening and that is why we are getting the significant pull back.

Remember you gave some projections and said if they did not come to pass you would admit Obama and his policies are a failure. The numbers are going in the wrong direction for you .... but I am still rooting for you for the good of america. I will happy to be wrong. But it is not looking good.

Tough headlines all over today. The real jobless figure is closer to 17%. Obozo in Copenhagen lobbying for the Chicago bid. Had, as Commander in Chief, only met with his top General in Afghanistan ONE time since being elected. Michelle O sacrificing to be in Copenhagen. Troops continue to wait for a decision regarding increasing strength. Obama "going for gold" in Copenhagen. Iran again thumbs its nose at the US, will continue to process Uranium and test fire long missiles. Obama paying back the cronies in Chitown in Copenhagen. Sheesh, do we deserve this?

I agree ... the guy has his priorities all screwed up. He is onlt focused on his agenda ... not what is best for america.
Now I just saw Biden comment on the unemployment and he said it is a tough number and while he know it hurts those that are still unemployed and losing their job. He said they are doing the "right things". when asked what those are ... he pointed to the "stimulus". The follow up was if an alternative strategy like tax cuts or job incentives would be considered and he responded we need to let the stimulus work.
Ummm the stimulus was sold on the basis unemployment would not exceed 8% and they would save or create 3 million jobs. Even if that was true that is $250,000 per job based on close to a $800 billion stimulus package. But lets say stimulus saved 3 million jobs ... but we lost 6 million other jobs they did not save.
What a shell game. I am quite sure if that money was used to give incentives to businesses and return tax payer money through tax cuts ... we would not be were we are today. We would be growing jobs and Obama would be looking like a hero.
That is why I believe he does not care and is ONLY focused on his scocialist agenda.

Just one point of clarification on above posts.
-When trying to get the stimulus approved, the administration was claiming that teh stimulus would "create" 3-5 millioin jobs.
-It was only after it was determined that states and municipalities and unions etc were politicking to use this money to pay already existing teachers, policemen, firefighters, etc, that the phrase "preserve or create" jobs came into use.
-Thus the first claim for the goals of teh stimulus proved wrong at the very beginning. What is to be expected from what follows?
